Flávia Trevisan

I am a brazilian 3D animator currently working at a studio called Wildlife Studios in my hometown, São Paulo.

– Background / Education –

I have graduated in architecture by FAUUSP, in July of 2014. Prior to graduating, however, I have spent a year living in Barcelona, during which I realized that my true passion was animation.

When I came back to Brazil, I decided to persue this dream and applied to a 1-year-course at MELIES | Faculdade Melies de Tecnologia  called ” Voyage – From Zero to Short Movie in 1 year” devoted to those, like me, had no experience at the field. I have dedicated myself extensively to this course and as a resolution of that, after 2 years of production and lots of setbacks, I concluded my short movie H2Obby, that was thankfully welcomed to several festivals throughout 2015/16.

After that, I realized that animation is one of those fields, like many others, in which you have to constantly update and improve yourself. So, at the end of 2015, I applied to a brazilian online school named Blue School, for the 18-month course, that reintroduced animation to me, from its very basics to its more complex parts. I’ve been tutored by Ivan Oviedo (Walt Disney Animation Studios animator)  and also Fernando Herrera (MPC, Sony Pictures Animation Studios animator).

– Professional Experience –

At the beginning of 2016, I was given the opportunity to work as a junior animator at Big Studios, a company set in São Paulo devoted to the adversiting industry national and internationally – my very first professional experience in animation. I have evoluted in so many levels, not only in terms of animation but also in terms of professional social skills, teamwork, deadline and pressure environment management. However, advertising has its limitations when it comes to animation, and the time came for me to try on other instances.

At november of 2017, I applied and got the great opportunity to work in the entertainment industry by being of the animators at the Disney Channel series “Glitter Model“, as it had been approved for its second season, in Mono Studios, also in São Paulo. I spent over 2 years at Mono, having worked in a variety of amazing projects, like the second season of “Mundo Ripilica – As Aventuras de Lilica, a coala” (broadcasted by Discovery Kids and Amazon Prime), a feature film inspired by the paintings and story of the great brazilian painter Tarsila do Amaral, called “Tarsilinha“, in partnership with TV Pinguim, and the wonderful “Diario de Pilar” series by NatGeoKids, an original production based on the books by Flavia Lins & Silva about this little adventurous girl that really nourished me and made me very proud to be part of.

While at Mono, I also had the chance to participate as a remote character animator for Hype Animation Studios in the cute TV series “Guitar and Drum“, a coproduction between Brazil and Chile (represented by Punk Robot Studios), broadcasted by Disney Channel, that target the very little children audience and tell the stories of this group of little music instruments friends, their daily lives and dilemmas.

At november of 2019, I was admitted to work at another feature film – moving up on the dream coming true scale –  called “Mundo Proibido” at Buba Filmes, which tells the story of this daring couple that seek fortune and travel through different worlds to get it. However, as the project ended, I got the chance to work at Consulado, another studio dedicated to the advertising industry which was really important to keep me on track during the pandemic, specially when our national entertainment industry was facing some setbacks.

It was only on September of 2021 that another challenge showed up and I took theopportunity of working in the gaming industry for the first time, at Wildlife Studios. I was very excited to join such a huge company, and getting to know this new pipeline and how everything worked together to get to the final outcome. It was a huge learning experience for me but by the end of 2022 I got back to working at the entertainment industry, on 2 TV shows at 2 different studios, both studios that I had previously worked for (Mono Animation and Hype Animation), and also both working remotely. And that’s where I’ve been so far.

– Personal Goals –

I realize that there’s a long path to reach my dream job, but where wouldn’t it, right?

The objective is to be part of one of the great studios out there someday, one that works on films for the entire world, telling stories that reach people’s hearts and lives, inspiring them to change whatever they feel its necessary for them to find their happiness. Using animation as a massive transformation tool, like many other art forms.
